Everyone knows the adventures of Alice in Wonderland and through the Looking-Glass. But Lewis Carroll wrote other "instructive" nonsense works, too. Here, in The Hunting of the Snark, Carroll's mathematical genius bends our brains around a nautical quest whose meaning lies in its eight "fits" of insanity. His Phantasmagoria gives us a ghost's eye view of the world, and the other poems that follow give a delightful romp through the mind of Mr. Dodgson.
